REFINED uses ceramic metallized technology: a metal layer combined with ceramic on a high-quality polyester base. The metal reflects heat away from the car, rejecting 50–90% of total solar energy depending on the code, and gives the glass its colour and sheen.
Good to know: the metal content affects GPS and Easy Pass, especially MX-CG05, MX-BL05 and MX-BL20. For the windscreen, use MX-CG20, MX-CG35, MX-BL40, MX-BL50 and MX-GN50.

The metal layer reflects heat away from the car: 50–90% TSER and 46–88% infrared rejection depending on the code.
Every code and tone blocks 99% of UV, slowing fading of seats, dashboard and door panels.
REFINED contains metal, which interferes with radio signals and so affects GPS navigation and Easy Pass toll payment. The effect is strongest on the high-metal codes MX-CG05, MX-BL05 and MX-BL20; the other codes contain too little metal to interfere.
REFINED has 8 codes in three colour groups. Codes approved for the windscreen: MX-CG20, MX-CG35, MX-BL40, MX-BL50 and MX-GN50.

MX-CG05, MX-CG20, MX-BL05 and MX-BL20 are certified with the No. 5 energy saving film label; the other codes are not on the certified list.

The adhesive takes time to cure and bond with the glass. Rolling windows down too early can cause peeling or permanent creases from rubber weatherstrips.
Heat from the defroster elements can cause trapped moisture under the film to expand, forming bubbles and weakening the adhesive bond.
A slight haze or small water bubbles under the film are a normal part of the drying process. Water will evaporate and the film will clarify completely within 14 to 30 days depending on sunlight and humidity.
Never use glass cleaners containing ammonia or harsh chemicals. Ammonia dissolves the protective anti-scratch topcoat and degrades the ceramic layer over time.
